First Class of PGA Golf Management University Students Announced for Global Internship Program

The PGA of America has announced its inaugural class of PGA Golf Management University students for the 2018 Global Internship Program.

The class, which is made up of five students from three different PGA Golf Management University programs, was matched with some of the leading golf facilities around the world, with facilities in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Through this program, future PGA Members will get an early understanding of the international landscape that will ultimately help to better position them to build the PGA of America brand internationally in future years.

This program was open to all university students enrolled and in good standing in a PGA Golf Management University program and not scheduled to graduate prior to Summer 2018.

Facility Information

The Grove

The Grove, located in Hertfordshire, England, is one of country's finest luxury resort courses; kept in championship condition all year round. With no members, The Grove follows a modern and dynamic business model very different to other luxury venues. Its 7,152-yard championship golf course was designed by the distinguished international course designer Kyle Philips, who combined modern game strategies with the great traditions of British golf course architecture. A top 100 golf course in the UK, The Grove has hosted the PGA European Tour’s 2016 British Masters and the World Golf Championship in 2016, won by Tiger Woods.

Meydan Golf

The Track is a Troon operated facility on the outskirts of Dubai City. This 9-hole course measures 7,412 yards off the Black championship tees twice around, with four other varying tee boxes that allows every ability of golfer a chance to play and experience the game of golf at a fraction of the average local rates. Renowned golf course architect, Peter Harradine, strategically placed each hole allowing the six natural lakes on the course to come into play on several approaches.

Meydan boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a 400-yard floodlit driving range, a short game practice area, The Academy by Troon Golf and the Qube Sports Bar.

The Els Performance Academy

The Els Performance Golf Academy in Hanoi, Vietnam, is one of the finest practice and instructional environments in the world, designed specifically to enhance the enjoyment, development and performance of the game for members, guests and visitors to the facility.
